Cataratas del Iguazú cerró el 2024 con más de 3.200.000 visitas y comenzó el 2025 con alta ocupación hotelera. Las Cataratas del Iguazú, destino compartido entre Argentina (80%) y Brasil (20%) son una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas de la Naturaleza en el mundo. Y en el 2024 recibieron 3.230.292 visitas, tomando en cuenta el lado brasileño y el lado argentino.
Las Cataratas del Iguazú recibieron en el 2024, 3.230.292 visitas, 1.893.116 personas recorrieron el Parque del lado brasileño, convirtiéndose este año en el más visitado después de la pandemia de COVID 19.
Esta cantidad de visitantes en 2024, es la tercera mayor marca de la historia en el Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, apenas atrás de 2018 y 2019, período anterior a la pandemia. Los turistas brasileños con 1.119.590 visitas, representaron el 59% del público total, un 3% más que en 2023. Y el 41% restante rompieron el registro de nacionalidades en un mismo año, con 190 países presentes en 2024, superando el récord anterior de 178, registrado en 2019.
«Cerramos 2024 con números históricos que reflejan el amor de los brasileños por sus atractivos turísticos y el encanto que las Cataratas del Iguazú despertaron en todo el mundo. Este récord de visita nacional, aliado de la presencia de 190 países, es un marco que consolida el Parque Nacional do Iguaçu como un destino global de conexión con la naturaleza. Todo esto es posible gracias al trabajo en conjunto con ICMBio, que nos permite innovar y ofrecer experiencias inolvidables para los visitantes, siempre en armonía con la conservación de la biodiversidad», dijo Mario Macedo, presidente de Urbia Cataratas, concesionaria responsable de la gestión turística del Parque del lado brasileño.
Además desde el sector aseguran que estos números brindaron también una buena ocupación hotelera en el destino, que se mantiene en este mes de enero 2025.
En Argentina
Las Cataratas del Iguazú son un destino compartido entre Argentina (80%) y Brasil (20%) y desde el 11 de noviembre del 2011 son una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas de la Naturaleza en el mundo.
Del lado argentino en tanto, recibieron 1.337.176 visitas y desde el sector destacaron que al finalizar cada temporada turística durante el 2024, «siempre aparecíamos en los primeros lugares de los destinos más elegidos del país, algo que nos llena de orgullo».
Del total 51% fueron turistas nacionales y el resto fue proveniente de otros paises.
Por otra parte, el 2025 comenzó con muy buenas expectativas, ya que la ocupación hotelera en Puerto Iguazú- Argentina se encuentra en un 82% con muchos establecimientos por encima de ese número. Y desde el Iturem adelantaron que se prevé que la segunda quincena de enero será aún mejor.
«Estamos en un 82% de promedio general de ocupación hotelera, con muchos establecimientos inclusive, por encima de ese número. Visualizamos una primera quincena en torno a ese dato y a partir de la segunda irá aumentando gradualmente. Las reservas se dan día a día, y hay una rotación mayor con reservas de 2 o 3 días. Tenemos muy buenas expectativas para este año que recien comienza» indicó el presidente del Iturem- Leopoldo Lucas.
